Darlene J. Inman

October 31, 1951 — January 14, 2025

Pendleton

Darlene Jane Inman, 73, of Pendleton, IN, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2025, with her loving husband, Allen by her side. Darlene was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 31, 1951, to parents, Robert and Zelma Butler (Jackson).

Darlene spent her entire life in living in Central Indiana. On April 29, 1978, she married her soulmate, Allen in Hartsville, TN. In 1982, they moved to Pendleton, IN, and have lived there ever since.

During her career, Darlene worked many years at Brylane, and most recently as a Property Manager at Somerset Lakes Apartments retiring in 2014. After retirement she focused on relaxing, driving everywhere with her husband, meeting all of her new great grandchildren, and visiting friends she had not seen in many years.

Darlene was a true believer in God and Heaven and prayed for her family every day. She was an unwavering voice of reason ready to drop everything to support someone in need. Throughout her life, she did a lot of camping, enjoyed puzzles and birdwatching on her back patio, and loved crocheting scarves and blankets. She has also been the go-to cook of the family and everyone has learned from her extensive recipes. Her dishes that will be missed the most are her taco salad and her pumpkin spice dessert.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Robert, Gloria, and Linda, and grandson, Spencer. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Allen, her six children, Patricia (Wall), Penny, David (Southgate), Dereck, Michelle (Southgate), and Zachary, her brothers, Steven (Butler) and Mark (Butler), as well as nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

A public visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, from 11:00 am-2:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the same location at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery following the ceremony.
