Dara Kaytlin Oliver

June 9, 1982 — February 18, 2022

Whitestown, IN

Dara Kaytlin Oliver, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and nurse passed away Friday, February 18th in her Whitestown, Indiana home. She was 39 years old.

Born Dara Snip from Monticello, Indiana, she attended Twin Lakes Senior High School and graduated from Purdue University in 2004. She received her nursing degree from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 2009.

Loving and caring for others was in her blood. She officially became a registered nurse and favorite mentor to many nursing students and graduates over the years.

“Even when I didn’t have faith in my strengths, Dara always did. She pushed me to be the best nurse I could be. I wouldn’t be the nurse I am without her,” said a friend, mentee, and past colleague.

In 2010, she met and fell in love with the man of her dreams Greg Oliver. She married Greg later that year. Greg is a proud and dedicated man of service – to both his family and his country.

“Dara is the woman who made my brother’s life complete and gave me two amazing nephews,” said Dara’s sister-in-law Shannon Oliver Ladislas.

The greatest joy of Dara’s life was being the mother to Zander and Zion. She loved her family fiercely and would do absolutely anything for her adorable boys.

She was a woman of faith and loved Jesus deeply. “Jesus Understands” became a well-known quote by Dara.

The only thing that gives family members and friends some peace during this difficult time, is that Dara is now back with her mother Daryla, who passed away years ago.

“I could call her when I was sad and missing mom and she understood as no one else could,” said Dara’s sister, Holly Munson Nellis. “But Dara is now in heaven with our mom.”

Friends describe her as a “loving spouse, dedicated mother, passionate family member, loyal friend, and remarkable neighbor.”

“She was stunning in all ways. Such a light in this world and the sweetest of souls.” Heaven certainly gained another beautiful angel who will forever watch over her precious family and friends.

Dara was preceded in death by her mother Daryla Urbanek Snip. She is survived by her husband Greg, sons Zander and Zion, father Bob (Christy), sister Holly Munson Nellis, brothers Jacob Harper and Jeremy Harper, and sister-in-law Shannon Oliver Ladislas.
