Daniel Wright, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away June 16th, 2020. He was born December 19th, 1956, in Covington, Tennessee to mother Dorothy Taylor.
He later moved to Indianapolis with his mother and step-father James Herman Macklin.
Daniel attended Broad Ripple high school.
In 1981, he married the love of his life, Susan (Lachmayer) Wright, in Indianapolis.
Daniel was a therapist for many years. He worked and retired from the Indianapolis Juvenile Correctional Facility.
After retiring, he continued his education at Martin University, where he received his master’s degree in community psychology.
He became the executive director at Family Empowerment Support Services, which was founded in 2008 and in operation until 2020.
Daniel was a very active, loving man. He enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing with his family. He liked watching sports and “Wheel of Fortune” and was an adamant card player. Daniel adored his family and will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Wright, daughters Stephaney Wright (Stephen Philip) and Brittaney Wright, grandchildren Maya Tealer and Rian Tealer, and siblings Debra Wright, Johnny Wright (Tressa), Lisa Johnson (Bruce), and Martha Finley (Laylon).
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Shirley Jolliffe and Sandra Baker.
Visitation for Daniel will be at East Rawles Church of God, Saturday June 27th from 10am-12pm, with his funeral service beginning at 12pm.
