Daniel Franzman

Daniel Franzman, 89 of Carmel, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Dan was born September 19, 1934 in Evansville, IN to the late Alvin and Helen Franzman.  He was a veteran of the United States marine Corps.

Dan was a graduate of Purdue University and was an active member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity and the Purdue Alumni Association. He retired as Vice President of Burpee Seed Company in 1992 and previously worked for General Foods.

Dan was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Carmel, the Broad Ripple Setoma Club, the Carmel Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine.  He was a former member of the Carmel Urban Forestry Committee.

Graveside services are planned for 11:00 am Saturday, December 23 at Hamilton Memorial Park 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, IN 46062.

Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine R. Franzman.  He is survived by his children, David M. (wife, Kim) Franzman, Dana C. Root and Gail E. Dillon; grandchildren, Ryan (wife, Christy), Aric and Jack Franzman, Daniel, John and Adam Root, Catie (husband, Cal) Lyons and Mallory (husband, Tate) Stone; great grandchildren, Lucas Franzman and Luna Root; brother, Charles (wife, Carol) Franzman.
