Daniel Earl Bowles

Daniel (Danny/Dan) Bowles was born on March 31^st, 1939 and went home with God on July 12^th, 2019. Dan was born to Velva Robinson Bowles and Samuel Bowles who proceed him in death.  Dan was a passionate family man whom dedicated his efforts to ensuring all were happy and smiling. Dan had eight siblings; Betty Bowles (deceased), Juanita Bowles Rankin (deceased), Mildred Bowles Larrison (deceased), William Bowles (deceased), Norman Bowles (deceased), Frank Bowles (deceased), and Shirley Bowles Lynn. Dan married his beloved Carole Bowles on September 8^th, 1955 and cherished her ever day of their marriage. Dan and Carole have one daughter, Debra (Debbie) Bowles Case. Dan (Pop) and Carole were proud of their three grandchildren, Shannon Wilkey, Justin Beattey, and Cortney Urich and adored their three great-grandchildren, Evan, Maddalynn, and Josslynn.

Danny was a proud member of the Indianapolis Fire Department even after his retirement from Firehouse 34 in 1986. His badge number of #951 was retired as well. Danny loved to golf and wheel and deal. There wasn’t a deal anywhere Danny couldn’t find and get a better price on. Danny was an avid car man and buying/selling vehicles was a hobby of his. Dan and Carole were passionate ballroom dancers and won many competitions. Those whom were privileged to know Dan would tell you his joy for life and making all those around him smile and laugh. As Dan’s life progressed, Dan continued to stay active after IFD retirement through multiple employment positions that allowed him to stay actively involved with his family and the community.

Danny will be missed by anyone whom was lucky enough to know him. His legacy and warm smile will continue to live on with the community, his family and loved ones.
