Dan G. Lazear, 79, of Windermere, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022. He was born on April 1, 1943, in Duluth, MN to parents, Robert Welles Lazear and Blanche Eleanor Lazear (Anderson).
Dan Lazear loved the Lord and his daily desire was to honor Him. He loved his wife, Joan, who was his beautiful godly wife for 57 years. Dan loved his family dearly as well. His older son, Stephen, although challenged by wheelchair-bound cerebral palsy, was seamlessly included in all family activities and adventures. Dan’s creativity allowed Stephen to live a full life, packed with motorcycles, bike riding, roller skating, snow skiing, and “runs” with Dan pushing him in his wheelchair. Dan’s commitment to his family was evident. For 35 years, Dan served as chief pilot for Hunt Construction Group.
In later years, Dan was a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders with whom he shared the honor of respectfully protecting the families during graveside ceremonies. Dan took great joy in blessing and serving others during his lifetime.
Dan is survived by his children, Kristin Lazear (Anderson) and Brian (Camille) Lazear; grandchildren, Quinn, Hutch, Emma, and Adam; sister, Sue; and brother, Bob. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Eleanor Lazear (Anderson); loving wife, Joan; and son Stephen.
Dan’s memory can be honored at a marker along side his wife, Joan, and son, Stephen, at Washington Park East Cemetery – 10612 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Grace Church in Orlando, FL, where he loved worshiping the Lord.
