Mrs. Damaso Gladys Morales (née Diaz) died peacefully in her home on December 3rd, 2019 in Indianapolis, IN at the age of 83.
Damaso is survived by her sister, Ernestina Pachon, her children, Gladys Morales and Juan Carlos Morales, and her grandchildren, Albert Pereda, Lizzette Menendez, Janelle Morales, and Michael Morales. She is preceded in death by her brother, Marcial Diaz, her husband, Juan Morales, and her parents, Ernestina Diaz Franque and Marcial Diaz.
Damaso was born on December 11, 1935 in Havana, Cuba before moving to the U.S. in 1969. Damaso and family moved from Miami, FL to Indianapolis, IN in 1999. After retiring from Publix, she enjoyed spending her time with family, reading, and watching telenovelas.
A memorial gathering followed by a celebration of life is scheduled for 11 a.m. on January 19th, 2020 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Damaso’s life. The family does not want to be sent flowers or donations, but instead asks for those who wish to contribute to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Damaso’s name.
