Dale Q. Buckallew

Dale Q. Buckallew, 97, passed away on the early afternoon of Friday, December 14, 2018 in Greenfield. He was born June 30, 1921 in Jasonville, IN, one of nine children born to Otto and Eva (Miller) Buckallew.

Dale attended schools in Jasonville and moved to Indianapolis in 1953. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and after being honorably discharged, he worked for Ford Motor Company as a millwright for 30 years. He was a member of the UAW, Moose Lodge, the American Legion, Millersville Lodge No. 126 F&AM as well as being a long-time member of Shadeland Baptist Church.

Dale enjoyed fishing and dearly loved and cared for his family.

Dale is survived by his children, Rita (Phillip) Wesling, Janet Britton and Darryl (Rhoda) Buckallew; his grandchildren, Nicole Wesling, Christina Britton, Danielle Britton, Andrea (Corey) Carlyle and Levi Britton; his great-grandchildren, Jordan Wesling, Taylor Britton, Sean Britton, Isabelle Britton, Reign Jones, Davin Jones, Zane Carlyle, Maelyn Carlyle and Carter Carlyle as well as his brother, Wayne (Helen) Buckallew and sister, Marge Woods.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Rosalie M. Buckallew in 2011, a daughter, Sandra Britton and six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East with the family receiving friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral center. Entombment will follow to Washington Park East Cemetery.
