Dale Anello

Dale Lee Anello, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his South Carolina retirement home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

Dale was born on July 6, 1945, in Buffalo, New York. Son of the late Henry J. Anello and late Maryellen (nee Kingman) Anello, he grew up in Tonawanda in a loving home with his parents and 3 siblings, filled with laughter and wonderful memories.

He graduated from Erie Community College and then Tri-State University (where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity). An honorable Vietnam veteran, Dale proudly served his country as gunner and Chief of Section in Quan Loi and attained the rank of Sergeant and managed the unit’s N.C.O Club.

Dale married his college sweetheart, Bonnie (nee Munn), on March 17, 1973. Dale and Bonnie first resided in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and then moved to Indianapolis for a new career opportunity and to raise their family. Dale started his own company, Indiana Steam and Process, and continued to grow the business over the years. In 2010, Dale and Bonnie decided to make the next step in their lives and moved to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Dale was a hard-working and loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. He always made sure Bonnie and his daughters were taken care of, up until the day of his passing. He used humor in every aspect of his life and was generous to everyone he met. Sailing was his passion and took his sailboat “Sea legs” on many adventures at both Lake Wawasee and Geist Reservoir. He was at his happiest reading, playing cards, driving his AMX classic car, watching movies, and enjoying Bonnie’s outstandingly prepared meals with his family.

Dale is survived by his wife, Bonnie Anello; daughters: Autumn (John) Segerson and Meghan (Jimmy) Pike; grandchildren: Audrey, Lyla, Camille, Hudson, Stella, and Madeleine; sisters: Denise (Jason) Simon and Diane (Larry) Moyer, sister-in-law Denise (late brother Darryl) Anello.
