Cynthia J. Mcguire

Cynthia J. McGuire, 64 of Carmel, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017. Cindy was born May 31, 1952 in Logansport to the late Robert and Delores Sweet. She was a graduate of Logansport High School, received her Bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in 1974 and her Master’s degree from Ball State University in 1978.

Cindy was an elementary school teacher for 36 years, retiring in 2011 from Forest Dale Elementary School in the Carmel Clay School System. Loved by her students, Cindy was a passionate educator, mentor and friend.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Fred; sons, Matthew A. (wife, Meredith) and Gregory A. McGuire; grandchildren, Gavin, Owen, Evelyn and Nicholas; brothers, Timothy (wife, Terri), Robb and Eric (wife, Jodi) Sweet; brother-in-law, Jim Lowes. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Lowes. One of Cindy’s great joys in life was the time she spent with her family.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Thursday, April 13 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 14 at 10:30 am.
