Cynthia (Cindy) Lillard Howell

December 12, 1954 — June 30, 2018

Indianapolis, Indiana

Cynthia (Cindy) Lillard Howell passed away at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana on 6/30/2018, at the age of 63.

Cindy was born in Jackson, TN, and later lived in Memphis, TN where she graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center college, before relocating to Indianapolis where she would spend the remainder of her life.

Cindy especially cherished being a mother and consistently caring for others in need.  She was an active member of Castleton United Methodist Church, and served on the staff of the church’s Still Waters Adult Day Center, where she loved and cared for each and every guest as if they were a member of her very own family.  Cindy was also recently ordained into the church’s “Stephen Ministries” program, which provides spiritual counseling to anyone in need of such services.  She was especially proud of this honor and felt so blessed to have been given the opportunity to serve others on behalf of her Lord and Savior.  She will be remembered by her contagious happiness and unconditional love for anyone she came into contact with.

Cindy leaves behind her former husband and continuous friend, Stanton J. Howell, also of Indianapolis IN, and their son, Alexander C. Howell, of Pittsboro, IN, who serves as a police officer with the Avon, IN Police Department.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. Sr. and Peggy C. Lillard of Memphis, TN, and will be deeply and terribly missed by her remaining five siblings:  her sisters, Debbie Diddle (Dr. John Diddle) of Knoxville, TN;  Dr. Lisa Oglesby of Knoxville, TN;  Kathy Lillard of Kalispell, MT;  Donna Lillard of Memphis, TN;  and her younger brother, Dr. Robert H. Lillard, Jr. (Kathryn) of Franklin, TN, as well as numerous nephews and nieces, and many other dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family believes that Cindy would prefer any donations to be directed to the Still Waters Adult Daycare Center.
