Cynthia J. Byers, a retired employee at Pearson Education, passed away on December 14, 2023, in her hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on March 16, 1952, Cindy, as she was affectionately known, was a cherished daughter of the late Robert Willingham and Pearl Burns Rush. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David A. Byers, and her sister Debbie Collins.

Cindy's life was defined by love and devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren. She found immense joy in their presence and cherished the moments they spent together. Christmas was a particularly special time for Cindy, as she embraced the magic of the season and delighted in creating lasting memories with her loved ones.

In addition to her role as a doting grandmother, Cindy loved to cook. Her specialties were potato salad, peanut butter fudge, and chicken tetrazzini. These dishes became synonymous with gatherings and celebrations as family and friends eagerly awaited the opportunity to savor Cindy's creations.

Outside of her professional career and cooking, Cindy found solace in shopping. With a keen eye for bargains, she loved to hunt for treasures and enjoyed the thrill of finding clearance items. Her love for shopping became a source of enjoyment and relaxation throughout her life.

Cindy's memory will be honored during visitation at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park on December 21, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 3:00 PM. Following the service, Cindy will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.

Left to cherish Cindy's memory are her loving daughters Missy (Dave) Winebrinner and Heather (Danny) Brooks. She will also be dearly remembered by her grandchildren, Kristina (Chet), Michael, Nicholas (Chelsea), Courtney (Terrance), Joseph (KZ), Alexander, and Mason, five great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Cindy's siblings, Jackie Sanders, Liz (Darrell) Ping, Michael Willingham, and Ronnie (Alice) Willingham, will hold onto treasured memories of their sister.

In her unwavering dedication to family, Cindy leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will forever be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared. May her soul find eternal peace as her memory lives on in our hearts.
