Curtis William Bailey

Curtis William Bailey, age 88 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Monday morning, July 24, 2023.

Curtis was born on July 27, 1934 in Arlington, Kentucky to his parents Oscar and Sarah (Burse) Bailey.

He married Mary Ruth Bailey on July 6, 1956.  She preceded him in death on November 19, 2002.

He is survived by siblings Adene, Brenda and Kenny.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings Dale, Fannie, Delbert and Orene.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and family members.

Curtis was a jokester who loved to travel.  He had been to all 50 states.  He enjoyed antiquing and flea markets, loved his dogs, and enjoyed working on cars.  He also loved being outdoors, doing yard work and helping out friends and neighbors by mowing their yards. He retired from Amtrak as a foreman of 46 years. Curtis was a Chrisitan faith based man who took much pride in his nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center.

His funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center.

Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery where Curtis will be laid to rest with his wife Ruth and many other family members.
