April 5, 1967 — December 21, 2022

Carmel, IN

Curtis (Curt) Lee Turbyfill, April 5th, 1967 – December 21st, 2022

Curt passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born to Shirley and Elmer C. Turbyfill in Detroit, Mi. The family later moved to Taylor, MI which is where Curt grew up and graduated from Harry S. Truman High School in 1985. There he developed lifelong friendships that he carried with him to Indiana.

He is survived by daughters, Carly Turbyfill & Angel Turbyfill; mom, Shirley Peraino & dad, James Peraino; sisters, Elizabeth (Doran) Gwyn & Tammy (Keith) Hartz; nephews Shawn (Brittany) Gwyn, Nick Peraino, Travis (Kate) Gwyn & Jacob Peraino. Curtis also has two great nieces Lyric & Evelyn. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins who he loved very much.

He was a US Navy veteran stationed in San Diego and moved to Indiana upon discharge from service. He worked for Chrysler Corp in Kokomo for 19 years.

Some of his favorite activities were gardening with his grandparents or his mom, attending church and worshipping through song. Watching football, he became an avid Colts fan, but never gave up on the Lions!

Curt was a lover of God, family, music, and animals. Daily reading of his bible through happy and sad times was a favorite past time. Curt was an excellent self-taught guitar player; he enjoyed listening to and playing music by bands such as Lynard Skynyrd, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Nirvana, and the Eagles.

His laugh was contagious and there was nothing he liked better than to make people laugh. America’s Funniest Home Videos was his all-time favorite show, but he loved funny videos from his family the best. He could watch those repeatedly, they never failed to make him smile.

The family will be hosting a celebration of life ceremony at a future date.
