Cristopher David Shumate

Cristopher D. Shumate, 44, passed away on February 12th, 2023. He was born on September 24th, 1978.

He was a dedicated worker, loving father, a loyal son, a beloved brother, trusted uncle, and a good man. Cristopher enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, golfing, and the open road. Passing far too soon, he will be dearly missed.

Cristopher is survived by a vast and loving family, including his children: Austin (Alisha) Shumate, Lichen Shumate, Elijah Shumate, Ophelia Shumate, as well as his grandchildren, Willow, Whitley, and Waverlee Shumate. Also surviving are his mother, Melinda Shumate, his brother, Colin Shumate, his grandparents, Wilma and Max Shumate, his grandfather Ray Rush, niece and nephew Meleea and Justyce, and many more.

He is preceded in death by his father, Brent A. Shumate, his grandmother, Anita Griner, and his twin sister, Cristal D. Shumate.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park.  Funeral Service will be Friday, February 24, 2023, at 10 am at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park.  Entombment to follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
