Corrie Johnson Lang

Corrie Johnson Lang, 95, of Indianapolis passed away on October 17, 2017. She was born on May 17, 1922 in Ashburn, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, John S. Johnson and Janie Mae Johnson; her brothers Lamar Johnson and George Johnson; and her sister Rosalyn Johnson. She is survived by her sister, Adalyn Wilson of Leslie, Georgia and her sister-in-law, Sara Johnson of Ashburn, Georgia. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Young H. Lang. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education from Butler University and taught kindergarten and first grade at Maplewood Elementary School in the Wayne Township School District of Indianapolis for 24 years. After retiring, she continued to tutor children on a volunteer basis for more than ten years. She was an active member of Chapelwood Baptist Church and served as the church treasurer for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Lang Jay and son-in-law Brent Jay of Los Angeles; her son, John Lang; daughter-in-law, Analia Lang; granddaughters Sabrina Lang and Natasha Lang; and grandson Andres Lang; all of Zionsville. Corrie’s devotion to her family, students and friends left a lasting impact that will not be forgotten. She touched countless lives with her service to others. She was dearly loved by many and will be truly missed. Visitation services will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway at 2950 N. High School Road in Speedway on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Dinner reception to follow.
