Cornelia Tomescu Dooley

Cornelia Tomescu Dooley, 92, Indianapolis, passed away on August 11, 2017. Connie was born in Indianapolis to the late John and Flora Tomescu. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Merrill Dean Dooley. She was a devoted mother of three, daughter Diane Dooley Gotshall (Matthew), son Michael Dean Dooley, and one daughter Paula Dooley Strouse (Richard) who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by brother Charles Tomescu and sister Ann Jones. Connie was a grandmother of four, Scott Gotshall (Rachel), Brad Gotshall (Rachel), Sarah Strouse and Richard Dean Strouse. She has five great grandchildren, Amos, Emory, Norah, Lily and Lucy Gotshall. She worked for many years at College Life Insurance Co. and Melvin Simon and Associates. Connie was a long time member of Meridian Street United Methodist Church. A family service will be held Saturday at 1pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Ave. A committal service will be held at a later date.
