Clinton Charles Stevens, Sr.
93, of Freedom, IN, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He was born on September 12, 1923 in Manooth, WV to the late William O. and Maggie B. (Barnett) Stevens. Clinton was an honorably discharged Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during WWII. He was a current member of the Shiloh Wesley Church in Spencer, IN where he enjoyed sharing his talent as a self-taught musician. Clinton is survived by his children, Shirley Gerking, Clinton C. Stevens, Jr., Carol Ridge, Nate Stevens, Sr.; sisters, Phyllis Knapps, Lucy Hinman, Shirley Stevens; nephew and close friend, Johnny Warner. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Joyce Stevens; and 9 siblings. Visitation for Mr. Stevens will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East from 4 – 8pm. Funeral services will take place Saturday morning at 11am, also at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s favorite veteran’s organization.
