Clarence “Lonnie” Alonzo Annes

Clarence “Lonnie” Alonzo Annes, 81 years, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2020 with his loving family by his side. He was born at home on July 19, 1938 to Eugene Preston Annes and Vesta Edleen Annes (Mefford) both of Kentucky.

Lonnie will be lovingly remembered by his seven children; Alan (Pam) Annes of Illinois, Carla (Terry) Short of Amo, Michael Annes of Indianapolis, Todd (Alison) Annes of Massachusetts, Patricia (Tate) Jennings of Greenwood, Pamela Kahre of Indianapolis and Thomas Drake of Indianapolis; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters Lois (Mike Goode) Capps of Indianapolis, Sharon Taylor of Michigan and one brother Richard (Niki) Annes of Indianapolis. Lonnie will also be forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and his precious Chihuahua Lucky.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Donna Mae Annes, his parents, his sister Nellie McDaniel and his infant brother Ronald Annes.

Lonnie was a machine repairman and assembly line worker at Ford Motor Company for over 30 years before retiring in 1998. He was totally dedicated to his family and place of work. Most of his free time was spent faithfully taking care of his large family. He will forever be remembered for having a loving heart, big smile and witty sense of humor that everyone enjoyed.

His hobbies included woodworking, camping, walking his “big fella” Lucky and traveling with the love of his life Donna. Lonnie and Donna became snow birds in Florida shortly after his retirement from Ford.

Celebration of Life will be Friday, July 31, 2020 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Flanner Buchanan Floral Park.
