Clara Ernestine -Ernie- Lee

Clara Ernestine “Ernie” Lee, wife of ten years to the late Charles Lee, mother of the late Charles Lee III, Terry Lee, Crystal Johnson (Tom Johnson) and Bradley Lee grandmother of Lynna Mills and eight grandchildren/step grandchildren and extended family members, died peacefully while surrounded by her family, on April 29th. She was 92.

Ernie was a retired teacher for the Indianapolis Public School System and later worked with the Indiana School for the Blind, who not only managed a successful career in education, but also raised four beloved children as a single mom.

A proud person of faith who was known for her sense of humor and ease on the dance floor, she especially loved the music of Bill Gaither. Ernie was truly loved by all and deeply devoted to her family— especially her grandchildren.

A visitation will take place on May 4, 2017 from 4-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indpls.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Indiana School for the Blind, 7725 N College Ave. Indpls., remembering Clara Ernestine Lee.
