Christine P. Clark, 97, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on November 23, 2023. She was born on March 11, 1926, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Ora and Bernice (Dye) Parks.
Even at 97, Christine always enjoyed playing euchre, talking politics and sports. Always interested in the adventures of her expanding family, she enjoyed the visits and the photos she received covering the exploits of her 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A child of depression era farmers, she learned early the rewards of hard work and family support. With World War Two she worked on the farm and worked evenings in quality control for the manufacturing of piston rings for aircraft engines. After her marriage to Richard Clark in 1946, she continued to work at the Richmond Telephone Company and later in life worked at Eli Lilly making the seasonal flu vaccines. Later, as the information and customer service representative for Washington Square Mall in Indianapolis she was well known for her humor and friendly assistance.
She enjoyed traveling. New York, San Franciso, Las Vegas and Hawaii were at the top of her list of favorites. Also, the visits to her son’s and daughter’s homes for holidays or vacation stays were always special. Later in life she and her husband, Richard took up golf and always enjoyed playing locally and searching out unique courses on their travels.
Christine is survived by her children, Gretchen Jarrett of Carmel IN and Greg Clark of La Crosse WI.
Christine is preceded in passing by her parents and her husband Richard Clark.
Christine’s final resting place will be at Earlham Cemetery in Richmond, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life event will be held in the Spring of 2024.
Please consider making a donation in Christine’s memory to The Greenfield Indiana Senior Center, Pat Elmore Center, 280 North Apple Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.
