Christina S. Cortner

Christina S. Cortner, 91, took her last breath surrounded by her loving family on February 6, 2017. She was born June 22, 1925, in Falkirk, Scotland, the daughter of the late Thomas and Christina (Rae) Davie. During World War II while working in London, she met, fell in love with, and married U.S. soldier Shields David Cortner. He preceded her in passing February 21, 1978.

Chris was affectionately known as “Grannie” and her family meant everything. She will be forever loved and missed.

She is survived by her two sons, Thomas Cortner and David (Jeannie) Cortner; son-in-law, Melvin Barnett; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Amy, Chad, Scott, David Lloyd, Michelle, and Misty; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her daughter, Elizabeth Barnett.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Services will begin at 5:00 p.m. and a reception will follow. Interment will take place at Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions Cystic Fibrosis Foundation may be or Kammy's Kause.
