Cheryl Kimler, 71, of Indianapolis, passed away March 28th, 2022. She was born in Peoria, Illinois December 5th, 1950, to parents Wayne and Barbara (Rogers) Kimler.
Cheryl grew up in Illinois and graduated from Centennial High School, Champaign, Illinois. She furthered her education at the University of Illinois where she studied radiology.
On January 2nd, 2003, she married her loving husband James Brown. They shared 19 wonderful years together.
She was a devoted Christian. A proud member of Lifepoint Church, Cheryl was heavily involved, and taught bible study classes for many years.
Cheryl was a strong, loving woman with a huge heart and great sense of humor. She valued her many friendships, always making time for lady luncheons and fellowship. She enjoyed being in nature, loved hiking, and took great pride in landscaping her backyard. She was a master chef and enjoyed sharing her dishes with family and friends. In her younger years, she was an avid softball player. In her free time, Cheryl like watching the Game Show Network and HGTV to relax. Above all, Cheryl adored her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, Gami, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Cheryl is survived by her husband James Brown; mother Barbara Kimler; children Shauna (Thomas) Martin, Zoey (Jeremy) Jelly, Courtney (Derek) Allen, J.M (Brian) Brown, Joshua (Mindy) Brown, and Jonathan Brown; grandchildren Nicole (Derek) VanDyke, Raven (Mario) Navarrete, Cameron Jelly, Renee Jelly, Jae Johnson, Alexis Allen, Kendyl Brown, Cole Brown, Jack Brown and Maddie Brown; great-grandchildren Desmond, Jordyn, Elijah, Maisyn, and Julian; Sister Theresa Kimler; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Wayne, and brother David Kimler.
Visitation for Cheryl will be Saturday April 2nd, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, from 1pm-3pm. Her service will begin at 3pm. She will be laid to rest at Bushnell Cemetery in Illinois on April 30th, 2022.
April 30th, 2022, funeral arrangements in Bushnell Illinois at the Methodist church corner of Crafford & Hess sts. 10:30 to 1:30. Visitation followed by service, cemetery & lite lunch in church basement.
