Cherryl Lynn Hannah (70) died Sunday, February 28, at home, surrounded by beloved family. She had small cell lung cancer. Cherryl was born October 16th, 1950 in Muncie, IN and lived in Kokomo, Frankfort and Indianapolis before settling in Zionsville in 1983.
Cherryl married Joe on March 27th, 1976 and they had four children. Cherryl was active in the Junior Group of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Women’s Committee from 1984-1987, finishing her time with the organization as chairwoman. Cherryl enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything else. She also enjoyed playing cards, was an adventurous eater and had a sophisticated palate. She adored the music of Harry Chapin, the movies Urban Cowboy and Dreamgirls and thoroughly enjoyed planning events. Cherryl never had a mean word to say about anybody.
She is preceded in death by her mother Betty Davis Ransom and father Charles Barnes. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Joe Hannah and her four beloved children and their spouses, who she adored: Andrea Hannah Obert (married to Eric Obert) of Sammammish, WA; Tess Hannah (married to Cale Kehoe) of Ferndale, MI; Nick Hannah (married to Alex Voris) and Caroline Hannah Booth (married to Collan Booth), all of Indianapolis, IN; her three grandchildren, Charlie, Jack and Kate; her loyal brother and lifelong friend Jon Barnes of Indianapolis, IN and her dedicated step-father William Ransom (married to Sue Ransom) of Ft. Wayne, IN.
