Charles W. Alstott

Charles W. Alstott, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away December 9, 2020. He was born in Joliet, Illinois on June 15, 1927 to the late James and Ada Mae Alstott.

After serving in the Navy during WWII, he went to college and then served as a missionary in Haiti for several years.  After that, the family moved to Indianapolis.  He served as a teacher at Indianapolis Public Schools for 25 years, completing his master’s degree in education. He was a faithful follower of the Lord as an active member of Traders Point Christian Church. Over several years he served as a translator on church missions’ trips to Haiti.  He faithfully attended the weekly Saturday morning Men’s group.

Charles always made it a priority to spend time with his family.  He was an excellent golfer and enjoyed playing it in leagues and with his sons.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris J. Alstott.

Charles is survived by his sister Lillian Sewell and seven adoring children Jim (Judy) Alstott, Renee (Dan) Stegemoller, Tom (Chris) Alstott, Tina Crites, Shannon (Steve) Hawkins,

Myron Hubbard (Lisa), Bob Hubbard (Sheri), 20 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held privately with interment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to join services via livestream on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 12pm noon, using the following link  – https://youtu.be/6tk4jDGMi9I
