Charles T. Woodard
84, of Indianapolis, went to be with The Lord on The Lord’s Birthday December 25, 2016. Charles was born May 23, 1932 in Cedar Hill, Tennessee to the late Braden and Mattie Lee (Barbee) Woodard. Charles attended and graduated from Bransford High School in Springfield, Tennessee. Following high school, Charles enlisted in the US Army, where he honorably served his country during the Korean War. After service, he worked as a truck driver for Cornelius Printing for 35 years, before retirement. He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served many years as a Deacon. He was also a member of the American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Maudie Mae Woodard Hutchison and a brother in law Eddie Reed. Left to cherish his memory; his wife Grace (Lonnis) Woodard; siblings Dorothy (Winston) Summers, Annie Reed, John L. (Helen) Woodard, Leona (Sam) Lyle and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10am until time of services at 12 noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church- 3500 Graceland Ave. Burial will follow the services in Floral Park Cemetery.
