Charles T. Mcconnell

Charles T. McConnell, 81,of Greenfield and formerly of New Palestine, passed away April 1, 2017 fromcomplications from Mesothelioma. He wasborn in Indianapolis to Charles A. and Janet (DuBois) McConnell on September15, 1935. He graduated from Warren Central High School with the Class of 1953 and was an athlete in football, basketball and excelled at baseball. He Played softball, basketball and bowled as an adult. He was secretary of his bowling league for many years and coached Little League baseball and YMCA basketball. Charley was an avid fan of the Indianapolis 500 attending the race for many years until his health wouldn't allow. He was also a fan of the Colts and was a season ticket holder for many years. He followed the Pacers and was a fan all the way back to the ABA days attending many games. He also was an Indiana University Sports fan listening on the radio and attending many games. Charley was a retired Electrician and a member of I.B.E.W Local 481

He is survived by his wifePeggy (Graham) McConnell; 3 sons from his first marriage to Marilyn Strodtmanwho preceded him in death, Michael S. McConnell and his fiancee Tracey, Mark R.McConnell and his wife Kim and Steven P McConnell and his wife Tamra; He is alsosurvived by 2 step-sons, Glenn and Larry McConnell; his sister, Barbara Sue Flowersand her husband Tom; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter,Lora McConnell.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4-8PM at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St.,Indianapolis, IN 46229. Funeral services will be 10 AM, Friday at thefuneral home. Entombment will be in WashingtonPark East Cemetery.

The family will gather at the Knights of Columbus, 1040 N.Post Road, Indianapolis, IN for a time of fellowship following the entombment.
