Charles R. Comer, age 78 of Speedway, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Charles (Chuck) was born in October 21, 1942 to Charles F. and Beulah M. (Porter) Comer in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Chuck was a “West Sider” through and through. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1960. Chuck maintained several lifelong friends from his childhood, that he cherished deeply. He was fiercely loyal and loved them all like brothers. He was a family man. He loved his family with no exceptions. He was everything that anyone needed him to be. He was the one you could always count on. He was a Marine – “Semper Fi”, meaning “Always Faithful”. He proudly served from 1961-1965.
In 1979, he married his true love, Carolyn (Jean) Clark. For 42 years they built a foundation on faith, family and love.
Chuck was a member of The Wino’s Golf League, American Legion 500, and the VFW#2839. He was also a longtime member of Our Shepard Lutheran Church.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Jean); children, Debbie Dell (Jim), Mike Comer (Lisa), William Euliss (Tammy), Gerry Euliss (Sheri), Cara Jaggers (Ron), Dawn Niemann (John); 15 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lou Hartnett (Tim).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah; father, Charles; sisters, Carolyn Bates, Gail Stalbaum; and son, Daniel Euliss.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park from 4pm-8pm. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Avon from 10am-11am with service at 11am. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
