Charles James Imhausen, known to all as “Jim,” passed away on January 23, 2019, at the age of 74 years. A longtime resident of Greenwood, Indiana, he was born in Indianapolis on February 11, 1944. Jim was a graduate of George Washington High School and was employed in the auto industry as a service manager at dealerships throughout the greater Indianapolis area. He was a proud member of the Freemasons of Indiana.
Jim is preceded in death by his father Charles Curtis and mother Anna Faye (Godsy) Imhausen.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rebecca, daughters Sharon (Gaston), Beverly, and Mary, grandchildren Ravyn, Diana, Haley, Sabrina, Rebeka, and James, and great-grandchildren Alba and Maple, along with his brother George and sister Vicki and their families. He will be greatly missed by his beloved Labrador/Golden Retriever, April.
Jim was an accomplished fisherman and marksman, participating tournaments and sharing his love of the outdoors with his family and friends. He was a lover of classic movies, especially Westerns, and he enjoyed traveling with his wife whenever possible. He was a passionate supporter of veterans of the US Armed Forces, and donations can be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/).
A memorial gathering celebrating his life will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park at 425 N Holt Road, Indianapolis, on Tuesday, January 29, from 4 to 8 p.m.
