Charles F. Canter Jr., 86, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away July 29, 2021. He was born on July 10, 1935 to the late Charles and Floyd Estelle Canter in Red Boiling Springs, TN.
Charles met the love of his life, Betty June Canter, and together they wed in 1956. They began their family and raised their two children in the Indianapolis area. He loved to travel, especially vacationing in Daytona Beach. He and Betty spent a lot of time riding on their Harley Davidson. Once, they rode all the way to California and back on their Harley with a few other couples. He was a loving grandfather, great grandfather, and even a great-great grandfather. He adored spending time with them all. He will be missed terribly.
Charles is survived by his children, Rick (Julie) and Vicki; grandchildren, Heather Rogers (Cary), Betty Washington (Steve), Laura Blocker, Chad Canter (Kyle), Kelly Canter (Zack); great grandchildren, Gavan Rogers, Kamea Washington, Kamryn Washington, and Charlee Blocker; and great-great granddaughter Akiko June.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Estelle, and his siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 from 11-1PM with a funeral service to begin at 1PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, 46229.
Charles will be laid to rest beside the love his life Betty, at Washington Park East Cemetery.
