Charles Edward Hoover Sr.

78, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 20, 2017. A Retired Navy Veteran, Charles was the Quartermaster aboard the USS Ranger Aircraft Carrier. He served the north side of Indianapolis at Weavers Lawn and Garden for 30 plus years and at the Indianapolis Newspaper for 15 plus years. He was known by many names… Charlie, Charles, Chuck, Bud, Dad and Papaw. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce; sister, Mary (Chuck); brother, Jerry (Kelly); daughter, Marilyn (Salah); sons, Charles Jr. (Debbie), Mike, Terry (Toni) and Larry (Jenny); 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild and numerous other family members. Bud loved all children and never knew a stranger. The family has lost its patriarch. He will be remembered and missed forever. We love you. A service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 6 pm with calling from 4 pm till service time at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple. Memorial contributions may be made to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
