Charles D. Hodges, Sr., 87 of Mooresville passed away on April 17, 2017. He was born March 3, 1930 in Bedford, Indiana to James Spurgeon and Leva Mae Robbins Hodges. After moving to Indianapolis in his teen years, Charles graduated from George Washington High School. He retired from Carrier after 28 years of service and was a member of Pipefitters Local 440 for 60 years. He sang with his family and his wife for many years. He was a member of Plainfield Bible Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Dwight and Bill Hodges and sisters, Wilma Haley, Irene Iverson and Eileen Mace. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Maxine Holcomb Hodges, his children, Charles D. (Helen) Hodges, Jr., Grant A. (Debbie) Hodges and Vance A. (Tina) Hodges, grandchildren, Margaret A. Green, Charles D. Hodges, III, Jennifer K. Weisheim, Jeff L. Hodges, Emily Patino, Casey Hodges and Rachel Hodges as well as 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with his family from 4-8 pm Wednesday at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis and from 10 am until the funeral which will be held at 11 am Thursday at the Plainfield Bible Church, 752 N.
