Charles “Chuck” Ernst

83, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on December 20, 2016. Chuck enjoyed his retirement while spending his time in Florida fishing. He was an avid gardener, Indianapolis Colts fan, and stained glass artist. He volunteered with many associations, especially St. Monica Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul. Chuck was known for his generous and giving spirit to all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 yrs, Lois Ernst; children, John Ernst (Lisa), Lauren Kniola (Tim), and Pat Ernst (Liz); 6 grandchildren, Alexandra, Matthew (Darcy), Erica, Megan, Alyson, and Meilyn; loving canine companion, Sandy; siblings, Mary Kay Couch and Jim Ernst; with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Sophia Ernst.

Memorial Contributions can be made to Humane Society of Indianapolis and Society of St. Vincent de Paul-Indianapolis.

Family and Friends may call from 9:30am-11am with Funeral Mass at 11:00am Friday, December 23, 2016 in St. Monica Catholic Church 6131 Michigan Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46228. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Indianapolis.
