Cayden Alan Mooney, a vibrant and loving soul, was born on September 23, 2009 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She brightened the world around her with her infectious spirit and remarkable strength. Tragically and unexpectedly, Cayden passed away on January 5, 2025. She leaves behind a profound void in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
Cayden’s personality was a beautiful blend of love and tenacity. She embodied fierce loyalty toward her family and friends, standing as a steadfast supporter for her siblings, Blayne, Madelyn, and Eastyn. Cayden had an innate ability to make others feel valued, ensuring everyone felt seen and cherished. Her headstrong nature and fierce independence shone brightly; she was never one to ask for help, choosing instead to navigate life’s challenges with unwavering determination.
A dancer and artist at heart, Cayden had an extraordinary gift for creativity. Her passion for painting and her talent as a makeup artist were evident in the way she poured herself into every piece of work including helping with the Middle School musical this school year. Her pride in supporting her siblings was showcased during her brother’s baseball games, sisters cheer competitions, and all of the races her little brother competed in.
Cayden also had a deep love for sports, particularly soccer and the Colts. She found joy in the excitement of the games and concerts held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Cayden created memories at each event that would forever be cherished.
Cayden is survived by her loving parents, Douglas J. and Amber D. (Mooney) Turner, who have been indelibly shaped by her light. Grandparents: Andrea and Jeffrey Mooney, and Kathleen M. Smith. Aunts and Uncles: Matthew and Lindsay Mooney, Rachel Lewis, Abigail and Jacob DeFord, and Jason Filicsky (Jessica). Each will carry her memory close, alongside many other extended family members and cherished friends.
As we reflect on the beautiful life that Cayden lived, we hold on to the lessons she imparted: to love fiercely, advocate for the underdog, and celebrate the uniqueness in others. Her legacy will resonate in our hearts forever. Cayden’s kind spirit and artistic talents will never be forgotten. This should serve as a reminder, to all of us, to embrace life with love and creativity.
A visitation to honor Cayden will be held on January 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan- Floral Park, located at 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222. A funeral service will follow on January 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the 38th Division Armory, 3912 W Minnesota St, Indianapolis, IN 46241.
