Catherine Theresa Frey

Catherine Theresa (Scanlon) Frey, 85, passed away July 28, 2022, in Indianapolis. She was born August 17, 1936, in Chicago to John and Annie (McGinnis) Scanlon.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 63 years George; her children Mike (Pia), Tom (Kristin), and Colleen; grandchildren Ryan, Joe (Katie), David (Anna), Ian (Bonnie), Colin, Amanda, Alyssa, Megan (Steve), and Haley; great-grandchildren Jayden, Trysten, Brysen, and Alanna; and sister Mary Frances. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Margaret.

Catherine grew up in St. Gertrude’s parish, attended St. Scholastica High School and lived in Rogers Park until moving to the Indianapolis area in 2019. Many will miss her good humor, kindness and hospitality.
