Catherine E. Dietz

Catherine E. “Kathy” Dietz, 64 of Indianapolis passed away at her home Thursday, July 11, 2019. Kathy was born June 22, 1955 in Indianapolis to the late Bill and Ann Simmons. She was a professional ballerina and worked as a secretary at insurance and real estate offices as well as for Tricor Automotive Group. Kathy was known for being crafty. She enjoyed painting and making jewelry that she shared with her family and friends, as well as sold at various craft fairs. Family and friends are invited to gather from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 20 at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple, 1305 E. Broad Ripple Ave., where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm. Kathy is survived by her husband, Gary; daughter, Julia Q. (husband, Kevin) Williams; son, Matthew R. Dietz; grandson, Erick Dietz; sisters, Gerri (husband, Howard) Long and Anna Kennelly; brother, Mike (wife, Jane) Simmons; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elaina “Yani” Simmons. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
