Carolyn J. (Painter) English

Carolyn J. (Painter) English, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017. She was born on January 22, 1938 in Marion, IN to the late Eugene and Claire Painter. Carolyn loved gardening, watching grandkids play sports and other activities, and loved animals. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Carolyn loved her grandkids and helped raise them; she was a proud grandma and a devoted Roncalli fan. She is survived by her 6 children, Marla (Chuck) Cothron, Cindy (Tom) Ahaus, Tammy (Tom) Sellas, Mike (Joanie) English, Lauri (Brent) Godshalk, Tina (Bill) Harmening; 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. English. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 4 – 8pm at Holy Name Catholic Church in Beech Grove. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10am Monday morning with additional visitation 1 hour prior to the service, also at the church. Entombment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
