Sally Bagley

December 22, 1941 — May 14, 2024

Elk Grove, IL

Carolyn “Sally” Bagley of Elk Grove Village, IL, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024, at the age of 82. She was born in Jasper, Florida, on December 22, 1941, to parents, Rossie, and Donnie (Adkins) Tyre. She graduated from South Dade High school in June 1960.

Sally was the definition of love for so many in her life. She never hesitated to show support and love to those who needed it. She was known as a “mom” to many others who she loved dearly and supported them as if they were her own children. Her most important role in life was a “stay-at-home” mom where she cared for and supported her four children. She volunteered at the elementary school as a lunch mother and room mom. She loved having her children involved in various activities from dance, tennis, clubs, drama, and she would encourage education at every turn. Sally genuinely loved being a mom and spending time with her kids and their friends made her happy.

Throughout her life, Sally was a hard worker and held various jobs where she worked retail, as a waitress, and at the local Jewel in The Pier for several years. Sally viewed her jobs as a way to connect with people and she never met a stranger.

As a wife, Sally found her soulmate in Phil. The love they shared withstood the trials of life unconditionally. Their souls are together forever as angels watching over us.

As a mother, she was dedicated to her children and was always there to lean on. She exuded unconditional support towards her family, no matter the path taken.

As a Tyre, she loved spending time with her family. Each year, she found it important to travel with her family and spend the summers with her brothers and their families in Florida. The Tyre family would have annual reunions that would bring laughter and great memories.

As a Bagley, she shared a special bond with her sister-in-law. The family ties are strong, and she enjoyed being so close to all her nieces and nephews.

As a friend and to her local “chosen” family, she spent the years raising her children alongside these wonderful people who she loved dearly. Some of her most memorable moments were baking with friends, neighborhood parties, and having coffee while always lending an ear for support. The bond she had with her friends was irreplaceable. She loved you all with her heart and soul.

Sally married Phillip G. Bagley Sr. on June 25, 1960, where they spent 47 wonderful years together, he preceded her in death on December 13, 2007. She is survived by daughters, Anita Bagley, Diana Bagley, Lisa (Matt) Evans; grandchild, Sarah Bagley; brothers, Charles (Effie) Tyre, Benny Tyre, Sharon Tyre (SIL)

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Phillip G. Bagley Jr.; brother, Danny Tyre, Kim Tyre (SIL).

No Memorial Gathering/Service will be held per Sally’s wishes.  In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we appreciate your donations be made to support her daughter, Anita Bagley, as she deals with long term health challenges ahead: Anita Bagley.GoFundMe
