Carolyn Ann (Terwelp) Hill

Carolyn Ann (Terwelp) Hill.  Born April 3, 1937, passed away December 19, 2018.  Age 81. Beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Wife, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Carolyn was born in Quincy, Illinois daughter to Matilda H. (Trapp) Terwelp and John B. Terwelp.  Both deceased. Carolyn has a brother Robert (Joni) Terwelp who reside in North Carolina. Carolyn moved to Indianapolis, Indiana when she was 13 years old.  Carolyn graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1955 and retired from Chicago Title/Ticor Title after a long successful career. “What’s a six letter word that means the people you live with, laugh with and love?” – FAMILY. Nothing meant more to Carolyn than her family. Married in 1955 to John Ramsey Hill (Deceased 2004), John and Carolyn had 5 children:  Jeffrey J (Rebecca) Hill, Lisa M (Timothy) Luttrull, Laura F (Ramiro) Campins, Linda Wilgus and Stephen M (Theresa) Hill.  Stephen precedes Carolyn in death. Carolyn also has 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Carolyn, also known as Race Mom, had a home that was always open for family, friends and the rowdy race crowd family.  Everyone knew the house on Georgetown Road.  Carolyn shared over 50 years of laughter and love in that tiny house on Georgetown Road. Carolyn never missed a birthday or anniversary and was ever present at her grandchildren’s school/sport functions. Carolyn was an expert crossword player, doing the Sunday puzzle in Ink.  She would tell you that doing it in pencil lacked confidence. Carolyn’s smile and laugh were memorable, she will be missed by all. Services for Carolyn will be held on Saturday December 29, 2018 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center and Washington Park North Cemetery at 2706 Kessler Boulevard West Dr. Indianapolis IN 46228 Visitation will be from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 1.00 pm. Contributions in honor of Carolyn can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Vincent Hospice.
