Carole Retacco, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this world on Friday, December 6, at the age of 85. Carole's life was defined by her unwavering love of her family and her vibrant talent for entertaining and interior decorating.

Born in Chicago, IL, Carole attended Bradley University, became a loving homemaker, and later found joy working in the hotel and hospitality industry. Carole's love for her family was her guiding force. Carole is proceeded in death by her brother, Bob Finch, and her husband of 29 years, Daniel Retacco. She is survived by her two daughters, Julie (Jim) McCann of Indianapolis, IN and Deb (Pete) Sawin of Belleair, FL. She is further survived by four beautiful and accomplished granddaughters: Megan (Tim) Baker of Barrington, IL, Shannon (Christian) Barrett of Anchorage, KY, Kaitlyn Sawin of Indianapolis, IN, and Keegan Sawin of St. Louis, MO. Carole was also especially blessed with five great-grandchildren: James Baker, Marlene Baker, Cal Barrett, Molly Baker, and Tripp Barrett.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date where Carole’s family will gather to celebrate her life and honor her remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Carole will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were touched by her life. Carole’s love and light will never be forgotten. May she rest in peace.
