Carole B. Burnett

July 7, 1940 — June 1, 2017

Pittsburgh Steelers biggest and most loyal fan has joined the spiritual world to dance with the angels. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt was known for her joy of family and friends. Everyone loved her boisterous sense of humor and love for life.

Carole Burnett, 76, was born at home on July 7, 1940, when Bing Crosby could be heard on the radio. In Ralph-Hibbs, PA, she was the middle child with an older brother Clyde Berg and younger sister Brenda. Clyde Berg, father, was a coal miner and her mother Evelyn Berg was a happy homemaker. She played softball and volleyball as a young girl and went to high school at German Township. She and her younger sister were in the band, Carole played trumpet and Brenda played the trombone. She would chuckle and say she joined the band just so she could get into the football games for free.

In high school she enjoyed going to dances and was quite the dancer. Yet, she never owned a poodle skirt. She also loved roller skating with her friends. She graduated from German Township in 1958.

Living just out of Pittsburgh, she was a true Steelers fan and loved Terry Bradshaw. She admits not just because he was a great player, but also because he was so good looking.
Never wanting to retire, even at age 76, she worked at IU Health. She was an active member of the VFW Auxillary, supporting veterans and traveling to various events to support the cause.

Survived by her beloved husband of 32 years James A. Burnett, Children: Jennifer Morris of Cory, IN, Clay Clark Jr., Indianapolis, IN, Brenda Van Arsdale of Worthington, IN, Beth Arlington of Waynesville, NC. John 14: 1-4 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
