Carol Sue Young

February 20, 1950 — June 30, 2019

Indianapolis, Indiana

Carol Sue Young, 69, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away June 30, 2019. She was born February 20, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Charles and Delpha Hoover; she was one of four children.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Carol graduated from Wood High School in 1968. She met the love of her life, Clyde Robert Young at a “Pots and Pans” party through mutual friends. It was love at first sight for both; they were married just a few short months later on June 1, 1973. They spent 38 beautiful years together and remained deeply in love at the time of Robert’s sudden passing in 2011. Carol retired from Fed-Ex, in 2011 after dutifully serving for many years as a payroll clerk. She was active in her community, belonging to the Southport Eastern Stars, the Amaranth Golden Link, and was an adult advisor for the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She also volunteered with the Cerebral Palsy Foundation as well as the American Cancer society. She loved traveling, especially taking cruises. She relished the ocean, loved boating, and always enjoyed trips to Disney World or the Caribbean. Though all these things describe Carol’s life, she is best remembered as being an amazing mother, sister, and friend to all who needed her. She was truly one of a kind; her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to meet her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Delpha Hoover; loving husband of 38 years, Clyde Young; brother, Richard Hoover. Surviving to cherish her memory are daughter, Melissa (Christopher) Young-Guillame; sister Linda Gurvitz; brother, Jim Aegerter; and grandpup, Otis.
