Carol Sue (Steinberger) Dunham passed away at home on February 10, 2020. She was born on July 11, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN. She married the love of her life Franklin Dunham on October 13, 1973. They have spent 46 years together building a lifetime of memories.
Carol attended Roncolli High School and graduated in 1970. Twenty-one years later in 2001, she graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Meeting Planning and again in 2002 when she completed her general studies degree.
Carol worked for Indiana Pharmacist Alliance from 1990 to May 2019 when she retired. Her main role was as their meeting planner. She planned meets all over the state, including golf outings and her favorite “Day at the Track”. Eventually, she also became the liaison for the Pharmacist Recovery Network. She went on to earn a certification through the University of Utah for alcoholism and drug dependencies specific to pharmacists.
Carol had many passions. She loved all kinds of crafts. Some of her favorites were sewing, quilting and scrapbooking. She loved to take pictures when she traveled. She also loved to cook. No one was ever left hungry when they came for a quick visit or dinner.
Carol absolutely loved to travel with Frank. They traveled all over the US and a few places abroad. Her favorite place to travel was Gatlinburg, TN. Frank and Carol went there over 40 times in their 46 years together. They enjoyed going through all the shops in town and Pigeon Forge. Most of all, they loved going into the Smokey Mountains to see any wildlife they could find and enjoy the beauty of the mountains.
More than anything else, Carol loved spending time with Frank, their daughters, the girl’s husbands and the grandchildren. It did not matter whether it was a trip somewhere or just dinner; they dropped everything to spend time with the kids. She also loved trying to go to as many activities, as she could, that the grand kids participated in. The grandchildren were everything to her.
Carol is survived by her husband Franklin Tyrone Dunham and two daughters, Jennifer Dunham Partain married to Matt Partain, and Lisa Dunham Broton married to Christopher Broton.; and her three grandchildren, Marianna Broton, Alexander Broton, and Joshua Partain.
She is preceded in death by her parents George Steinberger and Mary (Schwendenmann) Steinberger. She has 4 siblings Joe (deceased) Steinberger, George Steinberger, Mary (Steinberger) Mohr and John Steinberger.
