Carol Montgomery

Carol Montgomery, 82, of Carmel, IN passed away on October 13, 2018. Marina Carol (Wood) Montgomery was born in Indianapolis on December 10, 1935 to Walter A. and Olive C. Wood. Both preceded Carol in death. She graduated from Howe High School in 1953 and earned degrees from Butler University: a Bachelor’s degree in 1957 and a Master’s degree in 1960. She was a retired educator and worked at Warren Central High School from 1957 until 2000 as an English teacher, Dean of Girls, Assistant Principal and finally as a Guidance Counselor. Carol married David Wesley Montgomery on June 14, 1955. They were married for 61 years until David’s death on November 20, 2016.

Carol is survived by her son, Edward David Montgomery; sisters Sharon A. Bible and Marcia E. Norris and brother W. Michael Wood; also surviving are many loved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN, 46229. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until service time on Wednesday. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
