Carol J. MacDonald passed away December 3, 2022, in Lebanon, IN at the age of 82. Carol was born May 18, 1940, in Oglesby, IL to Elmer Eade and Ruth Williams Eade. She spent most of her adult life in Hammond and Highland, IN. In her retirement years she lived with her children in Zionsville, IN and Fort Mill, SC.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Robert MacDonald, her brothers James Davis and Myron Dewey Davis, and her sister Janice Lawrence. She is survived by brother, Paul Davis. Her children also survive her: Mike MacDonald – Phoenix, AZ, Vicki (Dale) Kenworthy –Fort Mill, SC, and Dan (Maureen) MacDonald – Brownsburg, IN and 4 grandchildren: Scott and Brad MacDonald and Wyatt and Weston Kenworthy.
Carol grew up on the family farm where she worked hard and loved her cows. After high school she attended Bible College in Colorado, and later worked as a telephone operator. Once she had children, she was a homemaker and helped her husband run his business by keeping the accounting books. After her children grew up, she worked at various companies in data entry until retiring to be a grandma.
Carol was giving and generous of her love and time to her children and grandchildren and any other kids in her life. She had a special place in her heart for her niece Anne David, and nephews Lloyd and Al Lawrence as they spent a lot of time in her home while growing up. In her retirement years, she could not have been any happier chasing grandkids around, picking them up from school, doing their laundry, taking them for ice cream, and helping them create their own summer gardens. She loved to garden and pull weeds. Carol had a servant’s heart and if you had a problem, she was there to listen for hours, research a solution, and help you to overcome. She had a strong faith and was a great example of her Savior’s love. Her faith helped her to choose hope and positivity in spite of life’s challenges. She spent her life giving to others and it was a privilege to care for her over the past several years. We thank all of those who helped us.
