Carol Ann Riggs

74, of Indianapolis, passed away December 3, 2019. She was born on August 17, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana as the daughter of Ollie and Dorothy Riggs.

Being born and raised in Indianapolis, Carol loved the downtown area. She attended high school and graduated from Arsenal Tech. Carol worked in the service industry for many years in Indianapolis and Las Vegas. After returning to Indianapolis she worked at the Marriott East and owned and operated Broad Ripple Laundry and Tan.  Carol not only had a deep passion for her family but also animals. She loved horses and would visit the family ranch when in Las Vegas.  She enjoyed spending time with her sons, teaching them to ride horses as well as water ski and traveling with her daughter.  She was known as the funny one in the family. Even though she was known as the funny one, she was also known to give comfort through love and her quick wit.  She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Carol is survived by her children: Charity Wilks, Lonnie (Tara) Marksberry, Zachari (Kaeli) Wilks; grandchildren: Emilee, Nick, Dylan, Anthony, Wynn; nieces: Cindy Hill, Trina, Theresa, Cindy, and Pam.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Rose, Lee, Don, Bill Riggs; and grandson, Westley Wilks.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019, from 11am-12pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. There will be a service following at 12pm also at the funeral home.
