Carmelo Rodriguez Flores, age 59, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away February 24, 2025. Born July 24, 1965, in El Mogote, Guerrero, Mexico, Carmelo brought joy and laughter to everyone he met throughout his life.
Carmelo's journey took him from his birthplace in Mexico to Michigan, and finally to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he made his home. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Olivia Rodriguez, whom he cherished deeply.
A man of vibrant spirit, Carmelo had a passion for dancing, particularly to the rhythms of Mexican music. He was a gifted storyteller, captivating listeners with his tales and experiences. One of eleven children he was loved by his 6 brothers and 4 sisters. He held a special place in the hearts of his numerous nieces and nephews, who adored him.
Carmelo had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He dedicated himself to his work at Riley Hospital's NICU, where he was valued and loved by his colleagues. He was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, proudly displaying his team spirit.
Carmelo's infectious love of life and his unforgettable laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Olivia Rodriguez and his step kids Julian Rachel and Erica Vaiz, and a large loving family.
