Carmella Sporio Trosch 81, of Fishers, IN, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, went peacefully to be with her Lord and life-long love, Wilbur Trosch, on Wednesday January 20, 2021.
She was born November 21, 1939 in Jefferson Hills, PA, to Thomas and Margaret (Laver) Sporio. Carmella was a devout Catholic and proud of her faith.
Carmella and her two sisters, Marguerite and Marie, were raised on the Sporio Family Farm in Jefferson Hills PA . With their father Thomas’ guiding hand, the sisters embraced the value of hard work and a “job well done”. This value was evidenced throughout every aspect of Carmella’s life.
Carmella attended Clairton High School and, as a sophomore, began dating the handsome young man who would change the course of her life, Wilbur “Tree” Trosch.
She graduated from the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and worked as a licensed beautician along side her sister, Marguerite.
Wilbur and Carmella were married November 25, 1961. and settled in West Mifflin PA where they raised their three children.
Throughout her life, Carmella was an involved mother, wife and grandmother who, for over 30 years, could be seen every Tuesday and Friday night during basketball season sitting behind the bench cheering on Wilbur and his West Mifflin Basketball Team.
Carmella worked tirelessly as a homemaker ensuring her family had a homemade meal, bread and baked goods seven days a week. Carmella’s most fulfilling job was a school bus driver where embraced the relationships she developed with “her kids”.
Carmella was incredibly talented in many areas. She was a master cook and baker. Her homemade pies, scratch-made Italian sauces and pasta are legendary. Carmella was also an accomplished seamstress. Whether free hand sewing, or working from a pattern on a sewing machine, she could alter or create just about anything with equal quality and precision.
Blessed with a beautiful imagination, Carmella’s love for housekeeping, interior decorating and craft making brought about masterpiece rooms where there was “a place for everything and everything was in its place”. Her hands rarely idle, she was a whirlwind of energy and one-hundred percent perfection was her nature. When Carmella did take time for herself she enjoyed spending time with her family and watching old cowboy movies.
Carmella leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Daniel Trosch, Sandy (Daniel) Walsh, and Eric (Misty) Trosch. Six grandchildren, Colombo Allen, Eric (Kimberly) Trosch, Kelsey (Bryan) Lowther, Garret Trosch, Katie Walsh and Jacob Kessinger. Three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Ellivia, and Lila Grace Lowther.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to the compassionate staff at Indiana University Saxony Hospital. Their outstanding heartfelt care and empathy provided to our Mom and family during a most difficult time cannot he surpassed.
Per Carmella’s wishes, a private service will be held. In lieu of cards or flowers, the family requests random acts of kindness, like Carmella did so often for others, be done in her memory.
