Carlos D. “Woody” Woodard, age 83, of Indianapolis, passed away March 19, 2018. Carlos was born in Mattoon, IL on November 5th, 1934 to the late Lewis and Mildred (Snapp) Woodard.
Carlos was a graduate of Mattoon High School. After graduating, he served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. After serving in the military, he then went on to be a Truck Driver for many years. He loved to spend his time doing yardwork, going to auctions, and playing the lottery. He was an avid Colts fan and loved spending time with all of his grand-children and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Carlos is survived by his children Carla, Nora, and Rosetta; siblings Dorothy, Jerry (Donna), Don (Judy), Betty, and June; grandchildren Erica Elizabeth (Ian), Vickie, Daniel, Kelly (Charlie), and Emily; great-grandchildren Bre, Savanna, Bella, Nova, Charlie and Brandon; and Great-Great-Grandchild David Davis.
Carlos was preceded in death by his loving wife Chie Woodard, parents, and sister Joanne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Indianapolis Japanese Church at 8540 E 16th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
A celebration of life will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East on Monday March 26, 2018 in the Irvington Suite at 10AM. Burial immediately following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
