Carla Jean Brooks, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. She was born on December 16, 1940 in Indianapolis to the late Wayne and Helen Anderson.
Carla was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High school and worked as an administrative assistant for over 40 years with the FBI, Federal Probation, and the IRS. She loved crafting, playing euchre and enjoyed her involvement with the Red Hat Society; however, Carla’s greatest passion was rescuing stray animals.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Brooks, Daniel (Hope) Brooks and Jim (Lorey) Brooks; grandchildren, Kaylie, Lauren, Derek and Audrey Brooks, Justin and Adryan Matteson, Jessica, and Josh Myers; great grandchildren, Joe Dowell, Jr., Lucy Dowell, Alexis Banner, Braelyn Myers, Dominic and Xavier Matteson. Carla is also survived by her nieces, Randi Anderson and Vicky Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wayne Anderson and Richard Anderson; and loving husband, Kenneth Brooks.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 10am – 12pm at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, with services immediately following. Contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society. Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
